1 pinch cayenne pepper

Put the cracked ice into a shaker. Dash the Worcestershire sauce and Tobasco sauce over the ice and pour in the vodka, tomatoe juice and lemon juice. Shake vigorously until a frost forms. Strain into a tall, chilled glass, add a pinch of celery salt and a pinch of cayenne pepper. Decorate with celery stick and/ or slice of lemon.

Also Possibly Invented at the legendary Harry's Bar in Paris (1921). Variations: Bloody Maria, Cold and Clammy Bloody Mary, Bullshot.

Shake the vodka and citrus juices in a mixer, then strain into the glass. Slide the grenadine down one side of the glass, where it will sink to the bottom. Slide the curacao down the other side, to lie between the vodka and grenadine, and serve before the layers have a chance to mix.

Muddle the mint leaves in a glass with the sugar & lime juice to extract the mint oils. Fill the Tumbler glass with crushed ice and add the rum and Angostura, then top up with soda water and stir. Garnish: Mint sprig Liquid volume = 190ml, ABV = 14.1% P.S. You can, of course, use fresh limes instead of lime juice :)

Rob Roy MacGregor (baptised 7 March 1671 – 28 December 1734) fought to protect the farmers’ way of life, earning the respect of this fellow Highlanders and a prison sentence for treason. He escaped (several times, actually) and lived the remainder of his life as an outlaw. The Rob Roy cocktail was created in 1894 to celebrate the opening of the Herald Square musical that paid homage to this Scottish folk hero.

1  medium  banana, halved

3/4  cup  ice cubes
    Freshly grated nutmeg (optional)
Directions
1. Cut up half of the banana and place in a blender. Slice the remaining half into 8 slices; set aside. Add creme de banana liqueur, rum, whipping cream, and 1 tablespoon of the ice cream topping to blender. Add ice cubes. Cover and blend until smooth.

2. Drizzle remaining 1 tablespoon ice cream topping onto the insides of eight 2- to 3-ounce glasses. Pour banana mixture into glasses. If desired, sprinkle with freshly grated nutmeg. Garnish each glass with a banana slice. Makes 8 (1-1/2-ounce) servings.

Brandy Kissed Snowflake
Ingredients
3/4  cup  vanilla ice cream
3  ounces (1/3 cup)  brandy
2  ounces (1/4 cup)  white creme de cacao
1/2  cup  ice cubes
    Whipped cream

1. In a blender, combine ice cream, brandy, and creme de cacao. Add ice cubes. Cover and blend until thoroughly blended.

Ingredients
1/2  cup  coffee ice cream
1  ounce (2 tablespoons)  vodka
1  ounce (2 tablespoons)  coffee liqueur
1/2  ounce (1 tablespoon)  creme de cacao
1/2  cup  ice cubes
    Chocolate-covered coffee beans, coarsely chopped (optional)
Directions
1. In a blender, combine ice cream, vodka, coffee liqueur, and creme de cacao. Add ice cubes. Cover and blend until mixture is smooth.

1  quart  peppermint ice cream
1  quart  dairy eggnog or canned eggnog
1  cup  rum (optional)
1  to 2 10-ounce bottles (1-1/4 to 2-1/2 cups)  ginger ale, chilled
    Additional peppermint ice cream (optional)
    Peppermint sticks (optional)
Directions
1. Place ice cream in a large chilled bowl; stir until softened. Gradually stir in eggnog. If desired, stir in rum.

2. Transfer to a punch bowl; add desired amount of ginger ale to reach desired consistency. If desired, top each serving with additional peppermint ice cream and peppermint sticks. Makes 18 (4-ounce) servings.

Chocolate Blitzen
Ingredients
2  ounces  semisweet chocolate
1/3  cup  chocolate-flavored sprinkles
1  cup  chocolate ice cream
2  ounces (1/4 cup)  Irish cream liqueur
1  1ounce (2 tablespoons)  dark cream de cacao
1  ounce (2 tablespoons)  vodka
    Chocolate curls or grated chocolate
Directions
1. In a heavy small saucepan, heat chocolate over low heat until melted. Dip the rims of eight 1-ounce mini martini glasses or shot glasses in the melted chocolate and then dip in the sprinkles. Chill until serving time.

2. In a blender, combine ice cream, Irish cream liqueur, cream de cacao, and vodka. Cover and blend until mixture is smooth.

3. Pour into prepared glasses. Garnish with chocolate curls. Serve immediately. Makes 8 (1-ounce) servings.

Pomegranate Sparklers
Ingredients
1-1/2  cups  pomegranate seeds (from 1 large pomegranate)
1/2  to 3/4 cup  brandy
1  750-ml bottle  sparkling wine, such as Prosecco, Asti Spumante, or brut champagne, chilled
Directions
1. In a bowl place pomegranate seeds and enough brandy to cover. Cover; let stand at room temperature 4 to 24 hours.

2. For each Sparkler, pour 5 ounces sparkling wine into a champagne glass. Add a few brandied seeds. Makes 5 servings.

Icy Holiday Margarita
1/2  cup  frozen cranberry-raspberry juice concentrate, thawed
1/2  cup  tequila
1/4  cup  orange liqueur
3  tablespoons  melon liqueur
5  cups  ice cubes
    Light-colored corn syrup (optional)
    Multicolored coarse decorating sugar (optional)
Directions
1. In a blender combine juice concentrate, tequila, orange liqueur, and melon liqueur. Cover and blend until combined.

2. With blender running, add ice cubes, one at a time, through opening in lid, blending until slushy. If desired, dip rims of six glasses into corn syrup and then into decorating sugar placed in a shallow dish. Pour blended mixture into glasses. Makes 6 servings.

Port Spritzer
Ingredients
    Mixed dried fruits, such as apricot halves, pitted plums, tart red cherries, figs, and apple slices (about 1 cup total)
2  cups  port wine
1  tablespoon  lemon juice
3  cups  club soda, chilled
    Ice cubes
Directions
1. Thread dried fruits onto six 6-inch wooden skewers. Place skewers in a heavy self-sealing plastic bag, being careful not to pierce bag with skewers. Pour 1/2 cup of the port wine and the lemon juice over skewers. Seal bag; turn to coat. Lay bag flat in a shallow dish. Refrigerate overnight, turning bag occasionally.

1  4-inch-long piece  fresh ginger, thinly sliced lengthwise, or 1/2 tsp. dried lavender
1  750-ml bottle  vodka (about 3 cups)
Directions
1. Place ginger slices in a clean 1-quart jar. Using a wooden spoon, lightly crush ginger slices against the side of the jar. Add vodka.

2. Cover jar tightly with a nonmetallic lid (or cover jar with plastic wrap and tightly seal with a metal lid). Let stand in the freezer for 4 days.

3. Pour vodka through a fine mesh sieve to remove all solids. Return infused vodka to jar. Or to give as a gift, pour infused vodka into a decorative jar. Label and seal. Place jar in the freezer up to 3 months to store. Makes about 3 cups (24 1-ounce servings)

2  qt.  dairy eggnog or canned eggnog, chilled (8 cups)

    Peppermint sticks, cinnamon sticks, and/or candy canes (optional)
1/8  tsp.  ground cinnamon
Directions
1. Place ice cream in an extra-large punch bowl. Add half the eggnog. Stir and mash mixture using a potato masher until ice cream is melted and mixture is well combined. Stir in remaining eggnog. Slowly pour in cream soda, stirring to combine. To each glass add a peppermint stick, cinnamon stick, or candy cane. Sprinkle lightly with cinnamon (about 1/8 teaspoon per serving). Makes about 24 (6-ounce) servings

Winter Fruit Sangria
Ingredients
6    dried Calmyrna (light) figs, sliced
6    dried apricots, cut into slivers
1/2  cup  dried cranberries
1/2  cup  raisins
1/4  cup  brandy
2  Tbsp.  honey
1  750 ml.  bottle Rioja or Merlot
1  10-oz.  bottle club soda
Directions
In a saucepan stir together the dried fruits, brandy, and honey. Cook over medium-low heat until simmering. Remove from heat; cool slightly. Add wine; stir. Refrigerate up to 24 hours. To serve, strain sangria into a pitcher. Add ice cubes and club soda; stir gently. Makes 8 servings.

Pomegranate Champagne Cocktail
Ingredients
1  ounce  chilled pomegranate juice or chilled cranberry juice (2 tablespoons)
3  ounces  chilled champagne (6 tablespoons)
Directions

6  cups  apple cider

Hot Buttered Cider
Ingredients
8  cup  apple cider or apple juice
2  tablespoons  packed brown sugar
4  inches  stick cinnamon
1  teaspoon  whole allspice
1  teaspoon  whole cloves
    Peel from 1 lemon, cut into strips
2  tablespoons  butter
    Cinnamon sticks (optional)
Directions
1. Combine cider and brown sugar in a large saucepan. For a spice bag, tie cinnamon, allspice, cloves, and lemon peel in a 6-inch square of 100 percent cotton cheesecloth. Add spice bag to cider mixture. Bring to boiling over medium-high heat; reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Remove and discard spice bag.
2. Top each serving with 1/2 teaspoon butter and serve with a cinnamon stick stirrer, if desired. Makes 10 to 12 servings.

Make-Ahead Tip: After discarding spice bag, chill cider and reheat to serve. Or, keep prepared cider warm in a crockery cooker on low-heat setting.

Cranberry Tree Champagne

1/2  cup  chilled champagne
1/2  cup  cranberry juice
    Fresh cranberries threaded on a skewer

1  large  English cucumber, thinly bias-sliced (3-1/2 cups)

Ingredients
    Ice cubes
4  ounces (1/2 cup)  sake
1  ounce (2 tablespoons)  vodka
2  thin strips  pickled ginger
2    pitted whole unstuffed green olives
Directions
1. In a cocktail shaker filled with ice cubes, combine sake and vodka. Cover and shake; strain into a martini glass.

2. For stuffed olives, roll or fold each strip of ginger and insert it into a green olive. Thread stuffed olives onto a small skewer and place in the glass. Makes 1 (5-ounce) serving.

Twinkling Ginger Champagne Punch
Ingredients
1/4  cup  sugar
1/4  cup  light-color corn syrup
1/4  cup  water
3  Tbsp.  finely snipped crystallized ginger
1/2  cup  vodka
1  750-milliliter  bottle champagne, chilled
Directions
1. In a small saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, water, and candied ginger. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in vodka; cool to room temperature. Cover and chill for 4 hours or overnight. Strain the vodka mixture to remove the candied ginger; discard ginger.

2. Pour vodka mixture into a large bowl. Slowly pour the champagne down side of bowl; stir gently with an up-and-down motion to mix.

3. To serve, ladle punch mixture into champagne glasses or punch cups. Serve immediately. Makes 8 servings.

Apple Sparkler
Ingredients
1  tablespoon  red or green colored sugar (optional)
10    unpeeled orange wedges or chunks
5    unpeeled lime wedges or chunks
5  6-inch  wooden skewers
2/3  cup  raspberry juice blend
1  750 ml bottle  sparkling apple cider or sparkling pear-apple juice, chilled
Directions
Sprinkle colored sugar on a piece of waxed paper. Moisten the rims of five wine glasses, one at a time, with a little water. Dip each rim in sugar and set aside for 5 to 10 minutes to dry.

For fruit garnish, place 2 orange wedges and 1 lime wedge onto each skewer; set aside.

Divide raspberry juice blend among prepared wine glasses. Being careful not to disturb the sugar on the rim, gently pour sparkling cider into each glass. Place a citrus skewer in each glass. Makes 5 servings

Pomegranate Martini
Ingredients
1    orange, cut into wedges
    Sugar
3  cups  vodka or gin
3/4  cup  pomegranate syrup
1/3  cup  dry vermouth
    Ice cubes
    Small pomegranates (optional)
Directions
1. Rub orange wedges around rims of 12 martini glasses. Invert glasses into a dish of sugar to coat rims; set glasses aside. In a small pitcher, combine the vodka, pomegranate syrup, and vermouth. Place ice cubes in a martini shaker. For each drink, add 1/3 cup of the syrup mixture; shake. Strain into one of the prepared martini glasses. Garnish with a small pomegranate, if desired. Makes 12 drinks.

Orange Martinis: Prepare as above, except use 6 tablespoons frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed, in place of the syrup. Omit garnish.

Apple Martinis: Prepare as above except use 3/4 cup frozen apple juice concentrate, thawed, in place of the syrup. Garnish with fresh orange peel twists.

Sparkling Cranberry Rose
Ingredients
8  to 10  sugar cubes
1  to 1-1/4 cups  cranberry juice
1  750-milliliter bottle  sparkling rosé wine, champagne, or sparkling white grape juice
    Fresh cranberries (optional)
Directions
1. Place one sugar cube in the bottom of 8 to 10 chilled champagne flutes or other tall, narrow glasses. Pour 2 tablespoons cranberry juice into each glass.

2. Fill each glass with sparkling rose wine or champagne. If desired, place a wooden skewer of fresh cranberries in each glass. Makes 8 to 10 servings.

•12 oz. (or other dark stout) Stout (Guinness)

Mixing Instructions
Tie up all of the spices except the cinnamon sticks in a muslin spice bag (failing that, use a coffee filter). Fill a large crockpot with all of the juices, the cinnamon sticks, and the spice bag. Heat the mixture on high until hot. Turn the heat to low and add the apple slices, orange pulp, dark beer and rum. Stir periodically, dunking the spice bag, and squeezing out the flavor. Simmer for at least two hours. Serve hot in mugs.

Jello Shots
6-ounce package gelatin
2 cups boiling water
6 ounces cold water
10 ounces 80-proof Clear Alcohol
In a bowl, mix boiling water with the powdered gelatin until fully dissolved. Wait a minute to fully activate the gelatin. 
Let gelatin cool for five to ten minutes to reduce alcohol vapor loss.
Stir in cold water and alcohol.
Pour resulting mixture into shot glasses or plastic cups.
- The maximum alcohol content is somewhere between 19 and 20 foz of vodka to a  3 oz package of gelatin powder dissolved in 4 fl oz boiling water = about 30% alcohol by volume.

Warm Winter Margarita
6 oz. Silver Tequila
3 1/2 cups apple juice
1 cinnamon stick
2 cups dried fruit of your choice
2 tbs. granulated sugar
Combine Apple Juice and Cinnamon in a heavy pot. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove Cinnamon stick carefully. Add sugar, dried fruit, and Tequila. Mix well. Serve warm.
