Emmy Awards

The Emmy Awards, or simply The Emmy's, is a television production award ceremony.  The Emmy Awards are split into several ceremonies on different dates.  The Primetime Emmy Awards, The Daytime Emmy Awards, The Technology and Engineering Emmy Awards, The Sports 

Emmy Awards, News  and Documentary Emmy Awards, and the International Emmy Awards.

The ceremonies that usually receives the most media coverage are the Primetime Emmy Awards and the Daytime Emmy Awards. The Daytime Emmy Awards are presented by the National Academy of Television Arts (New York) and Sciences and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (Los Angeles) in recognition of excellence in American daytime television programming. Ceremonies are usually held in May or June.  The NATAS is currently considering a new televised Emmy awards show combining Daytime, Sports and News and Docs.

The Primetime Emmy Awards are awards presented by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in recognition of excellence in American primetime television programming. The Primetime Emmys generally air in mid-September.
