Booze, 1 deck of cards.
Setup
Start by dealing four cards to each player, then place the deck in the center face down then turn the top card over and place it next to the deck face up.
GamePlay
The object of the game is to play cards into a pile and be the player to make the total value of the pile equal 99. Play goes around the circle with each person playing a card, mentally keeping track of total value of the pile. After players play a card, they draw another from the stack. When out of cards, those already played are reshuffled.
Socials occur whenever the total equals a number ending in 9
Special socials (Drink Twice) occur whenever the total equals 69 and/or 71.
Whoever completes 99, gives half a glass to any other player (Unless they have a King or Four - See Below).
All Cards are face value except...
King - Kept to avoid drinking and give those drinking responsibilities to someone else (usually at the end of the game, to give the half beer to someone else - even the winner)
Four - used as a skip card when you have none to play, or can be used to skip drinking responsibilities.
Tens - When the total is in the 90's, this drops the value of pile by 10, otherwise its a regualr card (Adds 10).
(Variation A) Screw the Neighbor
Whoever completes 99, the player after must drink half a beer (Unless they have a King or Four - As described above).
Other Variations
Some people play that 99 is a full beer, a shot, or finger drink (until the winner puts their finger down) and Some play that everyone but the winner must drink a designated amount. Rules should be discussed prior to play.
